    For WordPress users…
Word Press already pings one service.
    Here’s alot more to add.
In Wordpress just log in to the Admin Area,
Go to Options–> Writing, and at the bottom
you’ll see a text area under Update Services.
Paste the list below in there and click
    Update Options.
After that, whenever you post to your blog
Wordpress automatically pings all the services for you.
Posting will be just a little slower due to
the amount of pings going on, but it’s worth the
wait because it’s free promotion for your blog.
    You can add these websites in the list: http://rpc.pingomatic.com http://api.moreover.com/RPC2 http://www.bitacoles.net/ping.php http://www.blogdigger.com/RPC2 http://www.blogpeople.net/servlet/weblog… http://www.blogroots.com/tb_populi.blog?… http://www.blogshares.com/rpc.php http://www.blogsnow.com/ping http://www.blogstreet.com/xrbin/xmlrpc.c… http://topicexchange.com/RPC2 http://ping.weblogalot.com/rpc.php http://www.weblogues.com/RPC http://bulkfeeds.net/rpc http://ping.cocolog-nifty.com/xmlrpc http://ping.bloggers.jp/rpc/ http://ping.weblogs.se/ http://rcs.datashed.net/RPC2 http://ping.blo.gs/ http://thingamablog.sourceforge.net/ping… http://rpc.blogrolling.com/pinger/ http://blogmatcher.com/u.php http://ping.feedburner.com http://www.snipsnap.org/RPC2 http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping http://api.feedster.com/ping http://www.mod-pubsub.org/kn_apps/blogch… http://mod-pubsub.org/kn_apps/blogchatt http://rpc.weblogs.com/RPC2 http://www.weblogues.com/RPC/ http://www.popdex.com/addsite.php http://api.my.yahoo.com/RPC2 http://www.newsisfree.com/xmlrpctest.php http://xping.pubsub.com/ping/ http://xmlrpc.blogg.de/ http://ping.rootblog.com/rpc.php http://ping.syndic8.com/xmlrpc.php http://www.a2b.cc/setloc/bp.a2b http://api.my.yahoo.com/rss/ping http://bblog.com/ping.php http://blogdb.jp/xmlrpc http://blog.goo.ne.jp/XMLRPC http://coreblog.org/ping/ http://www.lasermemory.com/lsrpc/
I would also recommend going to http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/
to submit your Feed URL to all the blog directories
    manually, to initially get listed.
I also get quite a bit of traffic from these
    Blog Directories. http://www.blogexplosion.com/index.php?r… http://www.blogmad.net/?ref=df8210aba318…http://www.blogsoldiers.com/?rid=5165
    All are free.
When your writing a post for your blog,
treat it just like an individual web page
your trying to optimize for the search engines.
Include the keywords in the title & body of the post.
Also, you want your post to look similiar to this… http://webmasterautomation.com/blog/2007…
where the keywords are included in the url.
    You do this under Options–>PermaLinks.
Then choose date & name based.
    Hope this helps.
